Throwing up during exercise... When to eat?

i use to get this when went gym with a mate of mine who's a personally trainer ,i'd try and keep up with him and i would end up gettng dizzy and sick but once i'd puked i'd be up for continuing with work out . its usually if you prush yourself way to hard.

I've had this once before at the gym, but I'd eaten quite a lot, I find I feel more comfortable (and less bloated!) If I drink less water whilst exercising.

Happened to me when i started kickboxing years ago, i just eat nothing for at least a few hours before i train and i am fine. Eat after i have finished training.

Try eating something healthy before you train too. Not a dirty pizza, how about some slow releasing carbs!

Why are you taking energy tablets???

Well I ate some decent pasta 3 hours before, I take the energy tablets as I presume they'd help whilst I'm training if I haven't taken in enough energy during the day - don't want to be finding myself going all pale and having cold sweats! :o I normally have them about 25mins before training - but I'll skip them today.

I can still feel the pasta and I ate it at 1.45 - please go soon :(

Drop the energy tablets, they don't do what you think they do. If training for 2 hours+ and you're starting to flag, then think about taking the energy tablets. Don't take them before you start, take them near the end to get you over the finish line and help with recovery :)

I only ever felt ill and felt like throwing up with exercise, and this what when I was 15 and I had P.E. in the morning and had to record a 400m time.

Reason? I missed breakfast, I ate breakfast everyweek after and I was fine, so what time are you training?

Today I'm eating pasta with tomato and cheese inside, in tomato sauce - 3 hours and 20mins before I start kick boxing. Think I'll keep it down?

Depends on how big a meal it is !

I only eat very small amounts before a workout and try to leave as long as possible !

Maybe just eat breakfast forget dinner then eat after training !

From what I have read on hear though all you kick boxing types seem to juck up afterwards !

I like watching the girls kick boxing they look so hot in shorts and vest :D

Isnt it something to do with sugar?

My friend always use to say make sure you bring a drink like 'still lucazade' to top up your sugar levels else you will be sick

Are you drinking when you are there? or do you not have drink for the whole time?

Well I managed to get through without being sick - I felt a bit dodgy half way thru - but because I drank little amounts of water, no energy tablets - and a meal early on I was ok.

For some reason I was sweating more than I ever have before though? I thought it was weird that I never broke a sweat before, and all of a sudden this week I'm pouring with it.

I would replace the water you are drinking with a isotonic drink imo you will re-hydrate better

Yeh some days i sweat more than others during training.

A tip tho ... don't wipe the sweat off as it will cool your skin

Just sounds like you're pushing yourself too hard, or hard at least. I feel extremely sick but always manage to keep it down when I do 1000 mtre sprints on the rowers.
