H.E.A.R.T. HALLEFFECT ACCURATE TECHNOLOGY™” is the name of the new technology developed by Thrustmaster to reproduce movements made on a product in games. It relies on magnetic – and not mechanical – 3D (HallEffect) sensors, placed in different locations according to the product in question. The precision made possible by the use of this technology is significantly higher than that provided by standard technologies. Another advantage of this system: by eliminating all friction, it guarantees zero mechanical wear, for permanent precision that won’t decrease over time. The level of precision is also enhanced by the absence of any dead zones: even the slightest movement made by the player results in a reaction. Actions in games are therefore more linear, smoother and without any untimely jolts.

- Authentic wheel: 30cm (12”) in diameter with brushed metal central spokes
- Authentic sequential gearshift levers: crafted of brushed metal, attached to the base (so they don’t move with the wheel)
- 17cm in height (for instant access along 1080°)
- Precision, Force Feedback & realistic angle of rotation
- New H.E.A.R.T Hall Effect AccuRate Technology™ on the wheel’s steering:
- Ultra-precise wheel, with 16-bit resolution (65536 values on the steering)!
- Precision that won’t decrease over time (contactless magnetic sensor)
- Force Feedback with industrial motor (Torque 150mNm, 3000rpm, 65W, Ø 52mm/2”)
- Super-powerful, quick responding Force Feedback mechanism
- Rigid motorized stopper, no matter what angle of rotation you select
- Mechanism with large dual belts (fluid and smooth action)
- Angle of rotation adjustable up to 1080° (3 full turns)!
- Realistic pedal set
- Unique design with your choice of 2 positions:
- Floor-mounted position (F1-style)
- Suspended position (GT-style)
- 100% metal, for optimal stability, weight (more than 7 kgs) and resistance
- 3 100% adjustable pedals (spacing between the pedals/height)
- Brake pedal with reinforced and adjustable resistance (included and removable “Realistic Brake” mod)
- Included metal footrest with non-slip grating texture

Only £399.98 inc VAT.

First thing we all noticed at OcUK was the amazing build quality and the weight of the wheel and the pedals. The pedals are made entirely from metal thus making the pedals very sturdy and feel extremely realistic. Thrustmaster have given the 3 pedal different resistances just like in a car. The clutch is quite light, the brake is heavy and the accelerator is in the middle. The pedals can be adjusted in resistance and positioning to suit everyone.
The wheel itself is made from very high quality material and feels much better quality and both my Impreza and Gibbos Evo X wheels. Turning the wheel feels so smooth and the precison will not degrade over time due to using magnetic sensors.

The wheel has been through my usual camera phone photo shoot, and to top it off I even had Gibbo modelling it. :)

And for the comedy value - Gibbo on test drive.

nice deal there :)

how does it compare to the logitech rival then?

Gibbo, how does it compare to your EVO? :p

Hey,

Nice idea but the price is quite frankly outrageous compared to the G27, and I thought that thing was too expensive. Gibbo looks waaaaaaaaaaay different to how he did at the last RR he was captured at!!

You guys been restyling him or have you been stressing him out ;) Can't decide which it is :p

No gear stick + over engineered pedals + plastic steering wheel + price! = get G27

1. All the top end cars in RL have the flappy gear paddles
2. What does over engineered mean in reality?
3. The wheel is make of aluminium and is leather bound
4. You pay for what you get

so 1+2+3+4 = Caracus2k clearly has tunnel vision.

There is a clamp which is made of metal which clamps it to the bottom of the desk.
Or if you're hardcore you can bolt it down, as with all high end wheels.

Apparently this wheel by far has the best force feedback of any wheel, it's meant to be a real leap in realism. Way out of my price range though :)

But the Fanatecs, once you pair it with a set of their proper peddles is very close in price, so there really is a market out there, just not for casual racers, it really is an iracing wheel if you ask me, though it is the official GT5 wheel...

Everyone has their own opinion but a quick check on reviews shows I am hardly alone.

1. If you happy with flappy paddle alone fine, I would like a stick as would others
2. Heavy without needing to be so (although this is I except a very minor/ arguable point)
3. The wheel has a rather cheap (rubberised) covering unfortunately
4. For this money you still don't get XBOX compatibility (I know the G27 does not either) and limited PS3 compatibility (at the moment) to boot and at this money you are getting close to a certain wheel (and extra stick pedals etc) made by a German company that is (arguably) superior (especially if you have an XBOX!). I am still saving for the G27 myself! but each to their own

G27 peddles are not really that great, good in their own right but they do not have the feel of the higher end ones from Fanatec, or this wheel. Nothing wrong with the G27, it's great, particularaly the wheel, but this one redefines what's possible, as do the high end Fanatec's really.

my main issues are for the price Thrustmaster should have shelled out for an Xbox licence (although I guess it would not be the official GT5 wheel then!) and it should come with a stick.
I have no doubt that the wheel and pedals themselves are superior to the G27 ones but that misses the rather large price gap and the gear stick you get with the G27.

Really nice looking product but far too expensive for me.

I've still got a very old MS Sidewinder wheel, which I can no longer use (gameport), this is the only wheel I've had and thought it was pretty good for the price that I paid for it.

Would like to have a new wheel but have a limited budget so will have to look at other wheels. The G27 is also out of my budget, max I could justify is about £150.
