After being bored for a while i decided to set myself a little project and for some reason thought about making a thunderbird 2 model with detachable motherboard tray like in the actual thunderbirds.

The specs i have so far, all second hand mind budget a bit small!

Motherboard: Ga-g33m s2
Psu: Hiper425 psu
Hdd: Samsung 80gb laptop hdd
1 Green antec 80mm fan

I have some photos but unsure on how to upload them. hopefully it will work

I am trying to hurry! I havent got a slim line dvd drive, anyone got one? hehe
waiting for my psu and hard drive to come also before i can mold the front end. I have done most of the bottom till a point, need parts to continue!

Little update,
Ive received my psu and hdd and got a cd out of a old laptop.
I now need a little help and advice, The psu I got has loads of cables I dont need. Can I cut the cables? or would this make the psu not work?
Next advice, The old laptop cd has pins as the connector, where can i get a adaptor??

Ok been a while since uploaded anything, had spent a month looking for a plastic tube but couldnt find one.

  • Ordered Sheet of plastic to bend
  • Started to plaster it haha

Anybody had any experience with bending a plastic sheet quite oval shaped? Ive never done this before so going to be fun ;)

Thanks

Well it was going to be probobly finished like like 3-4 months propperly but the psu i had has died and i need new one but dont have a great deal of money at the moment! so kinda come to a halt.

Depends really, i will have a fan on the top of the plastic top, so maybe i will have that pulling air out, will have see how it goes really, hopefully wont be to hot anyway.

I got another psu hehe went for thr 400watt Ocz stealth. Seems pretty quiet from testing it.

My question for you people is:

Can my hard drive be placed here? thinking of any sort of magnetism or anything like that.

Also Green 30cm cathode, is £9 ok for 2 30cm ones? its including postage.
I will be making hole into the side of the thunderbird and hiding these out of view :)
