Can anyone recommend any alternatives to Thunderbird ?

I'm using Win 8 Pro 64bit, I'd like a desktop program, not a Win 8 App.
I'm just fed up (polite wording) of the text/font size keep altering as I type the message, misspelling of parts of words (not the full word) and it keep forgetting the passwords for my email accounts.

I also use MailWasher/Gmail Notifier type software for filtering out junk.
I just need a main client.
And ideally nothing too bloated.

Thank you.

Windows Live Mail works fine with Gmail (imap), aye.

I used Claws Mail for a long time due to it having both Windows and Linux versions. It's a pretty decent mail client but not the fastest and it's a little complex. If you can't manage to get Thunderbird working then it's probably not the one for you.

http://www.emclient.com/ might be worth a try if you like old school Outlook.

Thank you both for the suggestions :)

I didn't know about Live Mail, I stopped using MS's email clients when they removed Outlook Express from whatever OS they removed it from (and started using T'Bird).
