Thunderbolt issue

Hi all,

I have recently purchased Gigabyte Aorus 17G from Overclockers, it's a rather stunning Laptop and I love it. However, I have purchased an Icy Box dock with 2 HDMI slots and the laptop doesn't recognise them. My Cheap Dell NHS laptop works like a charm...the pedigree Aorus....nah.

IcyBox IB-DK2106-C USB Type-C Docking Station

The fact that my cheap NHS Dell works means that the docking station works. Is there a setting on the Aorus that I need to tweak?

Any ideas please?

Hmmm, have you check in device manager if it being recognised - I assume it plug in and play as it works on your NHS laptop

Often a right click troubleshoot function if it showing as a unrecognisable device.

Out of curiousity, does it work when the laptop is connected to the mains?

The dock isn't powerful enough to power the laptop, its plugged into its power brick too.

Ah, I get that I was just wondering if was passive or active?

well I hope you get it resolved or able to return it.
