I was convinced this was a wind up to begin with!
Thankfully I've not come across them yet, maybe one of the benefits of living in Scotland where is always cold and wet

Thunderbugs are 2mm big and black. No obvious wings etc. And they only exist outside around late noon. Early evening onwards they are almost gone, and rarely find one two at night on the window outside.
Used to have these where I worked in the UK, got into the camera gear, monitors, studio lights , you name it! Not seen any in Copenhagen until last night, but was only 2 or so. Still right pain in the backside!
lol, if that were only the case atleast our equipment would be safe. Thunderflies are so tiny that they can crawl in anywhere. They do have wings but are nothing like that picture as it would be impossible to see them considering how blurry it was. Would say roughly 1-2 mm long, ½ mm (maybe less) wide and so flat its a marvel how they can even function. They always seems to appear when the air gets really heavy with high humidity and high temperaturs which usually ends up with thunder and lightning and rain but not always.
The ones im personaly thinking about is called Limothrips Cerealium and looks like this
I had an old TN panel ruined by them a few years back. They crawled in and died due to the heat, but I was unable to get their bodies out, so it looked like I had a load of dead pixels.
