Thunderflies inside monitor

Just noticed there's about 4 of them inside my dad's secondary monitor that seem to be dead, so they're pretty much stuck in there. I remember the same thing happened to me about 8 years ago with my old monitor.

Is there anything that can be done other than buying a new monitor? Kinda sucks that these things can go inside your monitor and essentially ruin it.

Can you take a pic. Not seen this before.

I have never had a problem with any monitor I have ever owned.
The screens are pretty much a sealed unit inside monitors.
Not sure how anything would get inside them.

Had this a few times before. Leave a bright light on next to your monitor (with the monitor off) overnight and hope the bugs get attracted back out again. Fingers crossed they won't die as a silhouette on the screen for you!

I'll count myself lucky I havnt had this.

I guess they crawl inbetween the panels and diffusion sheets somehow.

A bit more visual than dead pixels. I can see why it'd be annoying.

I have one right in the middle of the screen, not as bad as yours, but still annoying!

I'll grab a screenshot to show you... :p

Just take the monitor apart and gently blow them off.

I can vouch however that they dont desicate over time, had about 5 in an old monitor that couldnt be bothered to dismantle as it was my main screen but got used quite a lot. Even 4 years on they are still there and have hardly desicated away at all

They can sometimes leave a stain though. I had a few stuck in a old screen and even after removing the corpses they left a mark behind. Best to remove them while they are still fresh, and dont poke at the screen and this can make any potential stain worse!

I had them yesterday inside the screen and didn't poke them or anything, they are gone today.

Hold off on a replacement and wait to see if they clear imo.

They disappear over time as they desiccate.

They do not.

I posted about this a couple of days ago. I have two inside my 2 month old pg279q :(

I have read about them being removed by having the top layer of the monitor taken off and blowing them off, then replacing it. What worries me is dust then getting in during the process.....a real risk if not done in a sterile lab and then makes the problem worse.

Sucks living by a farm.

I second that.

I've got a HP monitor that one died in about 7 years ago, it's still there like the day it died.

I'd definitely look at the options that have been suggested in terms of leaving a bright light to attract them to.
