Thunderstorm!

Been having constant rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning here all day. It seems to have stopped for the time being though, which is good news as a few times it caused my modem to lose synch!
 
It was insane for over a couple of hours here just to the east of Nottingham between about 4-6pm.

Skys are clearing now although still some good spurts of rain from time to time.
 
In the middle of a thunderstorm now in Sheffield, been raining for about 2 days solid now. Lots of places here are flooded, think we're one of the worst hit areas, people were abandoning their cars near Meadowhall according to the radio this morning. Lots of roads closed due to flooding or gridlock, with people trying to find different routes.

My work was flooded yesterday, spent most of the day clearing it up. Whats happened to the sunshine? :confused:
 
Yay after almost 2 weeks of stupidly muggy weather and the threat of rain, it's now chucking it down in Bristol, already a good river down are road after 15mins.
 
Haven't had anything too spectacular here (Newbury), but it's been rumbling around the last hour or so with a bit of rain thrown in for good measure. Certainly muggy so hopefully this will help.

Just started raining here in Bath 2mins ago...
 
Half the sky infront of me is major dull, grey, Cumulonimbus clouds. The other looks light and night.

Slowly descending into a storm!!!
 
Well I had to cope without my sky tv for a whole 15 mins!!
Its passed over now, but they did have the news on just now and it said that the bbc on Whiteladies road (where they broadcast from in this region) had been hit by lightning.....I live just across the road!!!! :eek:
 
It has been really going for it here, (hook, hants) over the last hour. loud and quite scary lightning and rain like I have not seen for ages. hope it is calming down now.
 
Dark clouds have started moving over here, wind has picked up and its starting to rain. Looks like we may be in for another storm again. :)
 
Just had it pour down here with a few flashes of lightning :D

The rain for a moment was so hard I couldn't see the end of my garden.

It's just getting overcast now.
 
Cars are dopping like flys down there, we're getting in-undated with accidents all over the shop!
 
Ooh, I was wondering if this thread would resurface :D . It's very 'squirly' in Aylesbury, with the odd distant rumble of thunder.

Looks promising.

Edit: It's kicking off now! Time to get my kite out.

Just getting some rumbles now near Bluewater. Have been looking forward to these storms everyone else has been getting :D
