As is the case with every year so far, we've always had a thunderstorm thread so people can post their videos, talk about the latest storms happening, or what may happen :D

I'll start

Anyone else got pictures from this month?

Reminds me of the only slo-mo I've ever taken on my phone:

I didn't even realise there had been a flash, but that's what was recorded when I had slowed the video of a few flashes down.

UK weather in 2016:

- a heatwave that lasts for 4 days
- maybe 10 more sunny days
- around 20 dull days
- maybe 1 thunderstorm
- a 1mm dusting of snow on the roofs which is melted by 10AM
- the remaining 330 days will be rain

...I appreciate I'm not in the UK, but this has been day in, day out for the last week. Bored of being wet.

Going down the A1 Thursday, just past Peterborough and the heavens just opened. It was an incredible downpour, the rain was bouncing back up off the road and I couldn't see past the bonnet, no rear lights of other cars, nothing.

Everyone slowed to a crawl as the 4 lanes just immediately turned into a river. Even with crawling along, the zed, with good wet condition tyres on, was squirming with the aquaplaning

Sleet in hertfordshire this morning whilst walking the dog, can''t beat a good old thunderstorm though, the louder the better

Got any cool vids? :D

Sorry, apparently the weather gods got my memo, today looks like this:

Should be some more storms next weekend though, I'll find my useful camera before then. Had sheet lightning lighting up the sky literally every 10 seconds on Thursday, for an hour or so. Taiwan - doing storms right.

I know it's not the UK, but one thing I miss about living in Joburg is the storms. Words don't quite do them justice. Here's a vid with an irritating saffer mentioning London a million times.

Havent seen. Thunder storm for what feels like years, most seem to happen at night when im dead to the world.

Use to live in the midwest, loved the storms there.. Moved to central NY state 6 years back, not 1 storm (well IMO) saw lightening maybe twice... I don't want the tornadoes, but OMG the weather is boring here... Also, the thunder here freaks some people out, it is a real laugh for us...

I haven't experienced a decent thunderstorm for years. I love them as well. Particularly the really severe ones. What is it about UK weather that means they aren't that common?

Remember when a lighting bolt hit the power pylon in our field. It was loud to say the least, I **** my pants. I was only about 100m away from where it hit! That was a bit too close for comfort.
