I saw on the news this morning that we were supposed to be experiencing torrential localised downpours and thunderstorms across East Anglia and the SE... So far in Cambridge the day has got steadily brighter and more pleasant without a thunderstorm in sight.

Has anyone actually witnessed this climatic catastophe the seers from the MET predicted?!

I was looking forward to a good thunderstorm :(

Yeah im in East london/essex and i was looking forward to the thunder too :)

instead its humid and sunny now boo :D

Hmm, it does give a surreal feeling to your day if your walking through a lightening storm or a monsoon (every other day up here lol) :p

If it happens it happens

Woke up at 0600 with heavy rain and thunder in canterbury. I like the rain so lay in bed with the curtains open as it drowned everything outside :D.

Was wondering where the rain had got to in Lincolnshire as, they said it would be moving North.

As clear in Cambridge looks like it's awhile away yet.:)

It has? I'm in Lolworth (other side of the a14 from Longstanton) and its subdued under heavy fog!

I want a good thunderstorm. Like the one .... ages ago, actually. But lightning hit a tree about 50 yards from the house and that was awesome.

Also, I want to be in a car that's hit by lightning again. That was cool.

I got a massive crack of thunder here last night at 1.30am followed by huge downpours. Heavy rain is amazing - I would've gone out for a walk but my flatmate's on holiday so I had to look after the kitten - he doesn't like thunder.

Same here! It's hot and sunny here in Kent. Although we did have thunder last night, but it certainly wasn't as bad as they predicated.

Was woken up at 8am this morning and treated to a slow hour and a half thunderstorm in Colchester. I think they were half way there since there was none of the torrential rain which was predicted.

Weather is exciting?

Weather is a lot of things, exciting is one of them I believe.

Driving through a very heavy thunderstorm last year over Cannock chase was certainly exciting, dodging debris falling in front of my car like in the movie Twister.
