Thunderstorms

You can tell it is time lapse or sped up; the beacons on top of the skyscrapers are flashing much quicker than they would normally...

In fact ignore me, watching it back the traffic in the foreground is moving at normal pace. That is really odd...
 
Just had a huge one pass through Southampton. My fiancee jumped out of her sleep next to me, first big thunderbolt came out of the blue

I've lived in Brisbane most of my life (apart from a couple of years in the UK) and these are quite normal storms in summer here. Probably 3 days out of every week in summer we'll get a nice storm in the afternoon with lightning like this, but it doesn't look as spectacular because they usually happen between 2-4pm, so it is still broad daylight. They don't commonly occur at night.
 
Had a huge rumble of thunder about 2 hours ago that shook the house.
Telephone pole outside the house got struck 2 months ago which knackered everything connected to it.
 
Had one (quite intense) rumble about 7pm last night then that was it, plenty of hail stone though.

Same here, 4 flashes of lightning followed by incredible thunder. The windows shook on the first one. Must have been moving away as they became less intense after that but it came out of the blue!
