It's probably won't last longer thought. We had lightning only lasted 5 minutes this morning. Rather disappointed. I heard there is round two on the way around 4pm this afternoon but it likely to be less than round one this morning.
Woke up at 5:45am this morning (nice Saturday lie in) to pretty heavy rain, quite a few long rumbles of thunder and a couple of lightning flashes. All over with by 6:15 though.
Back to solid grey cloud now, but it seems to be turning slightly darker in the distance.

heavy rain in Telford now but no thunder or lightning. How boring!
Belting storm in Somerset at 4.40 this morning, massive thunder claps and lightning for about half an hour
+1 Bloody fantastic! Woke up at 4:30 when it was just starting, and stayed up till 5 to watch it, so many flashes

Started here about 4-5 in the morning, woke me up out of my hung-over slumber!
I heard first clap of thunder this morning at 7.30 - got closer so got up and pulled plugs on computer - came and went in about an hour but it's still raining now - nice steady rain - doing garden good and fending off future droughts.

Belgium is getting battered!
Thunder n Lightning was amazing here this morning, about 3am ish I've never experienced such close proximity in time lightning strikes in my life, almost every 4-5 seconds for about 30minutes it was mental, the room was almost constantly light due to the strikes being so close too!
It was right over our house this morning at 5am ish, never heard such consistent thunder and lightening strikes, the thunder was one long noise, actually was weird because I was dreaming about thunder because I could hear it in the background when I was sleeping.
