Ticking Noise With 7.6 Cats

Does anyone get the most loud ticking noise with the 2900XT with the new Catalysts (7.6) ?

In windows say dragging an active window about makes a very loud ticking noise. Even minimizing and maximizing windows does it.

It is there in 7.5 but not as predominant.

Be greatful if anyone has any suggestions, ideas or experiences of this.

surely thats not normal for a video card ????

and i was going to upgrade to that or an 8800 gtx for crysis.

If it's not coming out of the speakers, check all the fans in your rig (inc graphics card), make sure nothing is stuck in them, could be that.
If it is coming out of your speakers, could you record it?

Definitely not coming out of the speakers.

I thought it was the PSU at first but then i rolled back from 7.6 to 7.5 and the noise is still there just really quiet and barely noticeable.

I also checked the fans by disconnecting them all. still it happened.

I am surely not the only one to be having this trouble?

hmm, very strange then.

Anyone any suggestion on anything i can try, could it be the HD Audio part of the 2900?

Cards go wrong but they normally dont screech opening up window applications.

unless your does it often ?

i never really noticed it in 7.5

only time i noticed was when using IE, but didn't do it in Firefox.

Then upgrading to 7.6 it's really noticeable in active windows, anything really.

Do i have a case for an RMA is it something else?
