Hey, here's an easy but much needed post for us guys who MOD a lot: After installing lots of new components in a computer; the amount of free sapce inside the case will be reduced and this can lead to over heating, as well as making it look a right mess.

The most clutter that is made inside of a PC case is created by cables (mainly from the PSU). SO, I was wondering, could you nice people out there post some useful cable management solutions for me?

...Because believe you me, the inside of my case is a mess!!

You can use cable ties to make the cables fit together and you can use rounded cables to make sure that the width of the cables aren't too big. I found that moving some of my hardware around helped as well, like moving my hard drive so that the IDE cable was closer to the IDE connection on my mobo.

hope that helps.

I use some slightly longer power cables so I can tie them up and stick them into the empty space in the optical drive cage. Cannot think of any general tips though, other than buy modular!

Best way to manage PSU cables -^

A little sticky tape can help keep things in place when you're trying to keep cables flush with the side of the case.

One of the cheapest and most affective mods I did was to a 20 pin PSU cable.
It was very short and had to be connected on the far side of the heat sink which meant that it partially blocked the air flow to the heat sink as it ran right over the top of it.
With a little sticky tape the cable was kept in place on the under side of the PSU and helped drop my CPU temps be several degrees :)

Cost £0.00
Temp Drop 5 - 10 degrees

Mount your HDD's backwards in your bays, and use extended power leads so that all your cables are routed around the edge of the case, a) out of sight, and b) out of airflow. :)

Also, either spiral wrap, or cable braid your cables :)

Oo I have another: I stick all my loose cables behind the motherboard plate; there's a gap of at least an inch in my Wavemaster between the plate and the back panel so I have lots of room to hide unsightly stuff :D
