Tidy Rooms

I like to have the area in which I work (my computer room) very tidy as I believe that this is one of the ways in which I can ensure that I am less distracted and thus will work in a more efficient manner.

I have, however, heard of many people who seem to think that it is better to work in a less tidy environment, and that excessive tidying of an environment is not very good as it leads to the area becoming less "nice", and therefore the person working in the area will not work as effectively.

Why not derive a statistical model to find the optimum work efficiency against environment tidyness?
 
MY room is a ****hole. I usually go on a mad cleaning spree every month or so, although I think I've missed last months by about 3 years.
