Tiling on Lino/Vinyl??

How would you go about tiling over a vinyl tiled floor? bitumen has been used then the tiles have been stuck to that

I didn't want to mess ripping them all up so would it be best to use marine ply glued n screwed and tile on that?

its the bathroom,i have 8mm laminate flooring in the hall so I have that amount plus a few mm if you include the underlay

I wanna see if I can use ceramic floor tiles in the bathroom

You cant tile straight over the lino, you have to cover it with something as you already suggested.

Are you sure the lino is directly on the floor boards?

its a concrete slab then bitumen then the vinyl

I just wondered the best way to do it without ripping it all up

Could uplift the vinyl and then latex over the bitumen with a latex suitable for bitumen like Arditex NA.
