Time for a new case...for lots of rads!

Just uploading, can't fit the wheels though, they've arsed up the packaging, sent me around 50 motherboard stand offs and screws but no screws to put the wheels on :p

So i'll grab some bolts at work on monday to fit them. Some blemishes on the finish of the case though fortunately all in places that are going to be hidden.

I'm a large chap and I managed to work inside the case (removing HDD cage) easily, this thing is positively HUGE.

Yeah, It just looks as if someone packed the wrong bag of screws, not a major issue as I wanted to swap the knuts out for nylocs anyhow :)

The huge box complete with two cats, one of which now lives in the box:

Internal shot, lighting was a pain but the best I could do at short notice with an SGS3:

I'm going to put some mock ups of how I plan to have everything laid out later this evening :)

Very nice, seems huge, but also seems very basic too.

What's the distance behind the motherboard tray to the back panel?

Certainly seems there are many configurations for rad locations etc.

It is basic yes, nothing fancy at all, it doesn't even come with on/reset switches :p

Isn't a great deal of room, less then I had originally thought, behind the motherboard, but the area marked red will be covered, probably with some gloss black acrylic, aiming to have that far enough forward to house and hide all the cables, will also act as a bulkhead for the 1080 radiator :)

I must say, that case is freakishly ugly, and basic!

Brave man, but I'd have waited for the 900D personally.

It will be interesting to see what you do with it.

Agree with you totally, I'll probably regret not getting the 900D, but that April release date really put me off, starting the build from mid april runs me straight into the mrs dropping, so it would have been impractical had I waited :)

Cable management is going to be the hardest part of this build by far, BUT I have plenty of holes to clip everything too :p

Loop order is going to be res>pump>bottom GPU>top GPU>CPU>Mosfet>XT360>1080>XTX360>Res

Mounting res on the back panel as there is a fill port hole directly above it with D5/shoggy clamped to the midplate next to the PSU.

sweet ******* Jesus is that two phantoms/switches welded together with 4 x 360's?!?

Golf clap for that, a brave mod.

*waits for the guy to move it and watch it fold in the middle*

:p

^^ Oh yes, i like that idea, perhaps could run it at the back of a large desk, so it becomes the background :D

Absolutely insane!!

My only fault is that he didn't remove the other motherboard tray (unless he plans to use it) and weld in some support struts instead.

I haven't read the whole thing just skipped through some pictures, but I want to know at what point did he think "you know what, lets cut and weld a pair of £200 cases" :p

Edit: Decided to have a 450ml res in my new build too :o
