Time for a new putter...

putters are all personal preference, and hard to advice a lot of people swear by the odessey two balls i find the extra length on the mallet very dis-orientating and makes judging the stroke harder, this also goes for mallet style putters. I recently udgraded my old mizuno putter for a shiny i-series ping zing and its very easy to judge stroke and a very crisp contact on the ball. I highly recommend trying one of the i-series

I got mine for £25 from Direct Golf, i love it and wouldn't swap it for any money (needs re-gripping though), it's what you get on with really. My mate has a Scotty and he's suffered quite badly on the greens the last couple of years.

Wish i could find the perfect driver !!

Just to let you chaps know that I spent a lot of time yesterday at a local golf centre where I tried quite a few putters on the fairly large putting green outside, instead of the horrible bits of carpet most places have.

I tried the odyssey white hot blade with the insert and it confirmed to me that I really dont get on with insert putters.

I then tried the Nike unitized tiempo (had to travel 20 miles to find somewhere that even stocked it) which was actually very good and made a very nice "ting" sound on impact. However it really wasn't heavy enough for me and I had a few problems with gauging length with it. Would definitely recommend this putter to others though.

I then tried the Odyssey black series, specifically number 1 and 2, and well what can I say, these putters are awesome.

I tried both the 1 and 2 and was getting consistent groupings of around 2 foot around the hole from 15-18 foot away, with a good few sinkings.

The number one was the better one for me and I left feeling a bit dejected that i'd need to spend £150-£180 to get the putter i wanted.

Then today I walked into american golf and as if by magic, on the second hand stand, was a mint second hand 35" Odyssey Black number 1. It needs a new grip, but at £90 it was bought there and then.

I'm unbelievably chuffed, and can't wait to try it out :D

Thanks for all your advice guys :)
