Time for an upgrade after 6 years (warning - not very exciting!)

I got the fans working :)

I know it looks untidy but due to space limitations within the case I think I'm going to have to wrap my power cables ( 3 PCIe) around the gpu rather than tucking them underneath. There just isn't enough space between the GPU and fans.

It's a real shame these massive cards don't have a power socket on the end of the board rather than the side

I think the cables are pretty tidy... though im not showing you the back, the PSU is mounted in the middle of the case and its very tight for space back there! As I said above, id prefer to have the PSU cable (there are 3 PCIe connectors so there's quite a lot of cables) run underneath the card, but its just going to hit the fan, probably just a compromise with the smaller case. Shame you can't just plug it in at the back but im sure there's a technical reason

Considering most of it comes from the fans which came with the case, Im really happy with the RGB! Never had a RGB PC before, but always wanted one

Also got my new monitor set up (my wife kindly allowed me to have my Christmas present early) im really pleased with my setup. My keyboard is caked in paint from 40k minis, but I think that adds character lol

Never used Windows 11 before, there is doubtless things I will need to mess around with and turn off (my old PC was ineligible for the upgrade!) so I will mess around with that and then upload some step by step pictures

I can't lie, I did curse the case quite a few times while building it - it would be a lot easier to work in if it was just an inch or two taller, and the top is just a magnetic mesh sheet - but I think the case, glass and 6 fans is a great deal for sixty quid, im really happy with my last minute decision to buy it, think it made a massive difference to my build

Looks great!

BTW, you can get adapters that go straight from the PSU to the graphics card 12pin (avoiding the messy 'octopus' adapter), although you might still find it a bit tight to get it under the card)

2 things to note as you have a 9800x3d on a b650 you may need to update the bios to get the CPU to work,This can be done with bios flashback button on your motherboard . Worth checking on how to do this.

It's definitely worth updating the bios even if it works straight out as new bios has the settings for the optimum settings for the 9800x3d.

On first boot AM5 build can take up to 15 mins to show anything on screen and may reboot a couple of times as the motherboard is training the memory, so be patient.

Oddly it just booted straight away!

It does come with the hub, and there are multiple cables running from the AIO, PSU and motherboard to the hub... It's more complicated than I expected

while the fans came pre-assembled onto the radiator and hoses (which was a bit unexpected) I am wondering if I was supposed to run some sort of cable from the fans to the main AIO structure they are already attached to. Il check it out after work tomorrow
nope, you've got an ilink setup..the wiring for the pump etc goes up the pump hose and the connection points are at the end of the radiator. The 3 fans on the rad are daisychained also, so you'll have a little cable for connecting those to the radiator also and then you have a long cable you use to connect the radiator to the hub

below shows how it all wires up

From the picture you posted of the bios the memory is only running at 4800mhz so you will need to enable expo.

Yea I think I got that set up right just after setup:

Though it was definitely worth mentioning... I only realised RAM doesn't always automatically run at the advertised speed while planning out this build, so embarrassingly the RAM in my old PC never ran at max speed...oops

The one thing that does bother me about the BIOS is that it says n/a under AIO pump. But the Corsair software suggests its all working so I assume all is fine (only ever had a stock cooler before)

I let the NVIDIA software run the automatic tuner option for overclocking. Never had NVIDIA GPU before, so not sure if this is something people usually bother with but I thought there was no harm trying

That would help a lot, I will have a look

If your PSU is the RM850e, it appears to be listed here as a type 4:

In which case, the following cable should work as far as I'm aware:

There also loads of third party extensions or adapters, although you're probably better off just sticking with the official Corsair one if you're happy with the look of it (i.e. not fussed about braided sleeves etc)
