Time for an upgrade

Having too many issues with my current setup as the loop I've got is causing more headaches than it's solving so want to get back to air / AIO devices and figured why not upgrade at the same time.

Current idea is to base the build around a binned 7700k, bits I need:
  • CPU Cooler
  • GPU
  • Mobo
  • RAM
  • SSD
Budget of ~£800 for the bits listed above.

I've already got a 1kW PSU, soundcard, will be buying a new copy of Windows and already have any and all peripherals. Suggestions?

What case do you have? what resolution is your monitor?

In fact is it that setup in your sig?

It is indeed, got a Corsair Air 540 and a 24" 1920x1080p monitor. No intention of going 4k at any point in the near future, perhaps 1440p in a few years but no rush as I like my 144Hz too much. Truth be told a CPU cooler to replace the custom loop and some form of aftermarket cooler that I can attach to the GPU would see me good, I'm primarily just looking to get rid of the custom loop at little to no noise / heat cost.

Just stick a air cooler on the cpu that you have. The 4790k is still a excellent cpu and I wouldn't be moving to a 7700k from one. The small performance gain for the massive cost is just not worth it.

That's what I was thinking, would definitely be the cheaper alternative and there are no signs of issues with the CPU so no reason why it wouldn't run fine outside of the loop.
What would you recommend as an air / AIO cooler for the 4790k? Also either need an aftermarket cooler of some sort for the 980Ti as I don't have the original cooler.

Having looked I wasn't expecting storage to have changed so drastically; want a bigger SSD to operate as an OS & games drive. Currently using a 128GB but it just isn't enough, got no M.2 slot so needs to be standard SATA.

By the by what is the difference between the CPU cooler you linked and the others, did you pick that one based on price or is it known to perform quieter / better than the others?
