Just found out that my psu in the system is a nasty xtremegear make. Defo needs replacing now I know this .

Would be a huge upgrade, but it has a different power profile (+50% to 70% or so) and it's probably a bigger card, so it's not a straight swap.

think its best to a 4gb then . They seem to be going for silly money at the moment.

Got my eye on this at the moment GIGABYTE GeForce NVIDIA 1050 Ti OC 4GB (GV-N105TOC-4GD).
Only concern is that this takes its power off the mother board, the hd5770 has a 6 pin connecter. Will this matter .

No problem at all, but you might need a 6 pin version of the card if you wanted to overclock it

Well didnt get hold of that one but managed to get hold of this one,
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050 TI OC Edition 4gb Gddr5 . Hopefully its been worth the wait and agro in getting hold of one.
