Hmmm me and my gf have decided that its time we stopped messing around and settled down…..
We’ve had our ups and downs in the past few years. If anyone can remember my gf had a nasty car accident some years back and ended up with a nasty medical condition that she is only just starting to recover fully from. During this time she gained a lot of weight, couldn’t walk correctly and just recently had a miscarriage.
Yes, we’ve been though a lot and yet we somehow managed to come out of it all stronger. In the last few months we’ve managed to finally start enjoying our time together again, she has lost so much weight during the past year its been absolutely unheard of. Dropping from a pretty sizable 20 to a size 14 and looking absolutely stunning for it and also going against the odds and now walking just as good as I can, and coming though a miscarriage and still wanting to get on with life is I feel the signs of a very strong and determined person.
Ok, I’m only writing about the good that has happened. Its not been easy, she’s had to have therapy, both physically and mentally, the issues have had a knock on effect with me, and I too have had some major mood swings due to the volatile nature in her and her attitude. However through all of this, she has kept a few secrets – for good reason I feel, still however she has always been true and loyal towards me. Together I feel we’ve accomplished a lot.
So, we’ve decided to get married and we’re now on the hunt for a home together. Her dad and my mum (both whom have money stashed away) have given us money to find a good home in Milton Keynes. We’re not getting married until May 2012 so as we can save up for a two week Caribbean cruise (we’ve both always wanted to go on a cruise) and I’ve already got her an engagement ring.
We both went hunting at the weekend for the ring, I proposed to her during her mum’s birthday BBQ on Friday. I told her mum I loved her daughter and asked my gf to marry me. Risky, but I like the element of shock and surprise. She certainly didn’t waste anytime saying yes and I’m bloody glad she lost weight, as when she jumped over to kiss me, she’d have had me over for sure a few years back.. lol
Well, its my happy tale during this bank holiday, and I hope you all join us with the rest of our friends and family in wishing us luck.
This community has been over time a life saver to me. My posts with your replies helped me though the tough and seemingly dark times… thank you all.
