How do :)

Just wondering in what situation people use SuperDuper since it seems TM does so much more?

Is it maybe a more accurate all-in-one restorable image?

(1 last question) and how would you restore from a SD backup image/dmg? TM is obviously quite a simple process...

SuperDuper gives you a bootable image, TM doesn't.

My main work m/c is a MBP - I use *both* SuperDuper and TimeMachine. TM for my normal archival backups, and SuperDuper to copy out my boot partition to an external firewire portable drive.

I have two hard disks in my laptop, an SSD for boot & apps, and a normal drive for data. Copying out the boot drive to the firewire unit means that I can always boot even if my main boot drive goes pop.

Important for me as I often spend time working away from home - being without my laptop would make my trip pointless.

I run SuperDuper! every day and just let Time Machine do whatever it wants.
