Time Machine

If you ask it to, it will back up another external drive.

My 1TB external drive arrived today, its now backing up over 1,615,000 files :)

Once its done that, the backups are very quick and hardly noticeable, especially on FW800 as it only backs up the changes.

489,192 files (139Gb) took 2 hours @ 20-25mb/s constant using USB 2.

Wish they'd update my eSATA drivers so I can get 50mb/s :(

My setup:

Mac HD 1 (160Gb Internal) + Mac HD 2 (200Gb eSATA) ---> Mac HD 3 (500Gb USB2 + other files)

is that a 1TB single drive or 2 500GB drives in RAID 0? If so it's probably not the best thing to be storing backups on.

I've had a look but i carn't see it, where do i tell timemachine to backup addional drives?

thanks

It backs up everything that isn't on the hard disk that takes the BU.

IE.

I have Macintosh HD3 and HD4 on the exclude list as they are my time machine and backup HD respectively.
