Time off work sick

You've had a motorbike accident and broken an arm. ER docs should have signed you off for 4-6 weeks depending on the seriousness of the break. Get one from your GP and get it in to the company asap. Take the time off and recover.

I'd also suggest looking for another job, not because they will sack you but purely because if you are scared they would over something like this they are obviously a **** company and their attitude will poison you eventually. Why people would work in a call center dealing with other people's often pathetic complaints is beyond me. I work along side out CS team in a different department and the stuff they have to deal with I'd end up telling the person that if they are crying because someone in our chat room made a joke about diabetes then you should take a serious look at your life (we actually had that complaint btw).

Milk it for all its worth, then go back.

You wont get rich from working for them, but they will get Rich from you putting yourself under duress of getting there etc.

**** em.

I just broke two metatarsals and cant walk, I can work from home in my position and that's what I offered my employer. They accepted. Everyone is happyish.

Are you in a union? Have you got a staff handbook? You need to read your T&Cs on sick leave. At least speak to ACAS.

I'm more interested in how/why you accepted a warning for being sent home ill! Which is effectively what happened. Not answering your phone later that day is bs.

My Supervisor at work came back from holiday the end of last August and complained about should pains. He started having days off and eventually went to the Doctor around, September and no one knew what was up. Eventually someone said it's a fracture so he started having hospital appointments too and more days off. Then he came back with 1 of those blue slings and carried on with days off here and there or a week every now and then. This year he's only been to work twice and today someone said he's torn something away from the bone and he'll be off until, April.

Those of us who work with him are sure he's taking advantage of it, but on the other hand he does have a genuine complaint and has worked on it no doubt prolonging the affliction and that's is works fault for making him work instead of having proper time off healing.

We've got someone who's off for 2 months for a shoulder op. Milking it!

But no one likes him so it's a blessing really.
