Yes, I do have my 3090 FE paired with an 11400. The 3090 won't fit in my main PC. As for permanence, pretty much until the next generation of CPUs arrives. The 11400 is pretty much the same as the 8700 in my main PC and I play at 4k so most games are GPU-limited, and most of the games I play don't use more than 6 cores anyway. I've simply no need for a better CPU for games. And with the 3090 - even though bought at RRP - and an iPad Pro and the 11400 box I've had a significant tech spend already this year.
