Time to finally start CCNA

I'm already a member of Cert Forums and have posted the link on here many times.

The CBT videos have been pretty helpful. I haven't had time to read any of the text books yet as changed jobs end of Jan so took a break. I've recently been asked to setup some Cisco routers at work so need to hit the cert trail again.

As a note the exams for the CCNA have just been updated. You have till September to do the old exam but after that you have to do the new exams (which will be significantly harder)!

I recently passed the CCIE lab exam in brussels last month, through my career i've done the CCNA a whole bunch of times, and i'll say it's one of the hardest written exams there is.

The passmark is high, the topics and technologies are broad and diverse, (security/wireless/etc) I failed it once or twice a while back :o

If it's any advice, my approach of hitting any exam goes like this:

1.> Book the exam, set a date - I find I only work hard this way
2.> Get good material from one training provider and stick with it, don't buy everything from everyone - one source, one approach.
3.> Make time - schedule a certain number of hours per evening per week.
4.> conquer

Good luck! it's a tough exam, but it's still highly valued throughout the industry :)
