It's upgrade time, so the big question is do I go PCI-E?
Not a big gamer, got an X800 Pro which is fine for me, but do loads of video encoding, website design (have a seperate server) and graphics stuff.

Do I ditch my AGP X800 or get an Abit AV8 to partner it with???

which also means new cpu, mobo, ram and graphics.
I'm not that much into new technology, the X800 will probably do me for a year or so

why will you need a new cpu?

If you are already on socket 939 then get a mobo with pci-e and use the ram you altready have.

If you are not into new tech and upgrading why start the thread

I'm on socket A - Socket 939 is 2 years old, I don't consider that new tech...
I was just wondering if anyone believes I should gain much by going the PCI-E route
It's the basic cpu speed I need from an Athlon 64
