Been eying up the 250gb Samsung evo drive seeing as prices are very nice right now. Is it a good time to do it? Or should I hang on for something faster/bigger/better value?

its upto you,if your pushed for space then go for it

I doubt you'd notice any realworld speed difference

I'm definitely finding space to be a bit of an issue these days. 128gb is pretty cramped even with only a few games installed. I thought the evo was a fair bit quicker than the m4?

I have a 128GB Crucial M4 too.

Personally I think I am going to wait until DDR4 Motherboards are released that will most likely have M.2 connectors on them which can take what I think will be the new SSD platform. The M.2 drives on the market now already offer double the performance of SATA 3 SSDs.

Yeah if you need it now then the Samsung 250GB is definitely your best bet, it is a great drive.

If you can wait 6-12 months then I would suggesting waiting to see what M.2 brings!

Indeed!!

I have the Crucial M4 256GB and found that i need more space for more games, so i'm getting a Crucial M500 480GB purely for games as they can be found for under £170... This will do me until i go X99 with Haswell-E.
