Time to upgrade GFX card again help needed

I'm looking to upgrade my GFX again and can't decide what to do

I have a 3870 atm and was thinking of either replacing it with a 4850, buying another 3870 and going xfire, or (as i just read on forum) buying a 4850 and xfire with 3870 when or if ATI release new drivers allowing xfire across 3x and 4x series cards.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.
