So heres my current rig:

q9550 @ stock 2.8ghz
4gb of Ocz ram
geforce 8800gtx
ocz ssd drive
syncmaster sa750 monitor

not gaming at the mo but thinking of starting bf3 and swtor on it, while i have the money it might well be worth a punt, or wait.

500 ish to spend on mobo, cpu and ram.
3-400 on new gfx..

What case you got? Some cards are 10-11" long. So check how much clearance you have.

really no need to spend that much on a motherboard(thats just spending money for the sake of spending money), I'm regretting getting that particular motherboard as I ended up paying ~£80 extra(look in the extreme 7 gen 3 thread in the motherboard section if you're not aware of my woes) so ended up paying £290 for it(paid £210 for it on preorder).

also you've linked to a oem cpu but no 3rd party cooler?
