Tin foil hat?

If it was to stop cats why not just cover it with a blanket or something?

The amount of effort to lay "tin foil" over that is mindboggling. Does it actually work? I thought a nice hot surface would encourage them more, at least the blanket would offer protection.

better yet, just don't buy a hair dressers car and you don't gt this problem........................

It's a feet feel thing as much as anything. My parents had a dog some years ago they didn't want getting on the sofa and the trainer advised laying tin foil on the cushions when they weren't there. Solved the issue within a few weeks and stopped even when they removed the foil altogether. We wanted to deter our greyhound from going into the conservatory (lot of heavy stuff in there he could knock over) so we covered a doormat in several layers of foil and put it just inside the entrance, worked a treat. Doesn't even go near the place now.

When I was a kid I had a cat that sat on the roof of a neighbours soft top. We didn't like her and one day because of the idiot she was she set off with the cat on the roof. Loafs of claw marks. Serves her right
