Anyone else watching? I thought I'd give the first episode a go tonight, ending up binging on 4 episodes. Think it's very good. Tim Roth is excellently dark and brooding as usual, playing a Jekyll & Hyde character that I don't know if I like or absolutely hate. Good performances all round, especially from Oliver Cooper-Smith as Whitey. Also, plenty of lovely cinematography in beautiful locations. Quite tense at times, pulls no punches and never gets boring due to good pacing. Also, it's not so much a murder mystery in the way of finding out the killer, but more working out how everything is connected and how it all leads to the incident at the start.

Good stuff all round imo. Already been commissioned for a second series.

If you talk about what happens in it, maybe we should use spoiler tags atm as it's very new.

Gonna start it tonight, normally we do a few episodes a night so shall wrap the series up quite quick.

Looking at the trailer it looks good so looking forward to it.

When I first heard about this I was hoping it was a true western. I fancy giving it a watch but I'm inundated with Netflix and Prim stuff at the moment. Simply too much cracking TV to cope with.

It's more in the mould of twin peaks or fortitude than a western.

Yeah I think it was described as a western in an article I was reading and then I was thoroughly disappointed to find that it was a bit misleading. Having said that I've recently enjoyed fortitude and wayward pines though never got into twin peaks. I'll give this a shot.

Watched 2 episodes and it’s not grabbing me, probably because I just finished Narcos.

Watched upto episode 6 over weekend, Surprised by how it hooked it me, Feels like it's taken hints from Banshee and seeing The Swede from Hell on wheels in a major part again makes me happy.

Tim Roth is playing his part well and it seems to be setting it up that he is two different people depending on him drinking or not, Shame on the wife for bringing that side out of him for a fumble.

Me and my girlfriend finished it yesterday.

Overall I rather enjoyed it, but I do have some issues with it as well. I feel that as it got deeper in to the series there was some really unbelievable things occurring and character motivations changing suddenly.

I'll focus on the negatives in spoilers

1) They treated Tim Roths character as if he was literally Jekyl and Hyde who only needed a drink to change in to 'Jack'. The mother and daughter literally refer to Jim and Jack as if they are different people. He was ultimately an extremely unsympathetic character IMO with no real redeeming features.
2) Whitey - Good character, good motivation etc. However, a 10 year old kid wouldn't look so dissimilar to their 20 year old self that you wouldn't recognise them at all when face to face, especially if you spent lots of time with them and clearly 'Jack' wasn't drunk the whole time. The kid had black/dark brown hair and the adult 'Simon' had very light brown hair - Are we supposed to think he dyes his hair or something? They could have cast a kid that actually had similar features!
3) The armpit licking sex scene - Ick
4) Tim Roth's wife shagging him whilst he was covered in blood after killing the black guy. She is just as messed up as he is.
5) The moment when Roth curled up in to a ball as a gang of bikers kicked the crap out of him. Next scene we see him spitting up blood but not even an extra bruise on his face. He would have broken bones, black eyes etc etc
6) The French-canadian security guy was a home invader - I'm not entirely sure about Canadian law but that is purely a case of self-defence. Why did they drag his body out and bury it in the woods, rather than call the police? Which leads me to...
7) Christina Hendricks suddenly using the plight of the Native American woman to just get a better position in the company was a bit left-field. She seemed genuinely sympathetic and at the end she threatens the junkie woman as if she is just as bad as Gagnon. Didn't buy that at all.

Only watched two episodes so far, but Tim Roth and his daughter are the only good characters. The gang that have cropped up are plain AWFUL. The tone of the show is completely off and the soundtrack doesn't sound right for the show.
Does it get better?

Exactly my feeling.

Finally got around to watching last 3 episodes, it dropped off towards the end but still kept the feel of the first few episodes I enjoyed it and can't wait for season 2.
