Tinnitus who suffers from it

Have you been to see anyone? Could also be ear drum problems too (calcium build up, positive fluid pressure inside drum, infection etc)

I'm on a waiting list for an ENT specialist, I've been on it for a year so far and was told it would be ar least a couple more.
What started as pretty harsh vertigo around 4 years ago, eased off a little and tinnitus took over. The doctor said Menieres Disease likely but the more I've read and researched Acoustic Neuroma, it could well be that as the rest of the symptoms are bang on with me too (balance, vision, fatigue, ear fullness etc).
I'm hoping it's not, though living with diminished hearing as well as tinitus in my left ear regardless isn't something I'm looking forward to. Each morning when I wake up (awful sleep patterns too) I feel like I have to do a quick check on what's working that morning, balance, hearing, any shakiness etc, frankly fed up with it but know there are worse things out there.

I should probably get checked out, had ringing in my ears since standing next to a massive speaker all night in a club about 25 years ago. I also get neck pain and headaches which has only started in the last few years. Only thing ive found that helps me is a neck massager.

I'm probably posting this for at least a second time, I've had it to some some degree since my clubbing days in the 90s, but it was sporadic and generally not as intense as it's been since covid nine months ago. Almost constant these days.

bad luck, headphones gave it to me in the early 90`s and had it ever since. Totally sucks, especially at night when trying to go to sleep

I don't listen to loud music a whole lot but I noticed an infinite ringing while trying to sleep one day that wouldn't go away or get quieter.

Flattened the volume on everything after that. Just can't be having with a ghost of a noise in my head.

Haven't heard it in a while so fingers crossed.

As i have stated before, my tinnitus is extremely loud. Can hear it above many things. Left ear is the worst but both bad.

I do get dizziness on occasions too.
Mine has kicked up a notch this year. Now it's permanent in my left ear, and loud enough to notice all the time.

Previously it would come and go, and was ignorable. Now, not so much. Now, it's a constant nuisance.

Ever since I got hearing aids it has massively helped the issues with tinnitus. Even at night now my brain seems to register it less (after taking the aids out). Also the fact you can pipe subtle white noise and other things to offset it does mean things like mediation become easier.

I have had tinnitus for a long time and can largely ignore it, becoming worse when I focus on it. Or so it seems.

However after having Covid at the end of Jan this year that took it to a whole new level.
At one point it had even become dual toned, both ears and pretty constant. That was very bad. As well as dual tined it became much "louder".
At least the dual toned aspect of it has now gone but the tinnitus is now greater than it used to be before having Covid.

Meh

Oh and I decided after having Covid, around April time, to go and see and ENT. So I saw one after a couple of weeks, as well as an audiometrist, for various tests...........................and here I am continuing as is.
Then again I did have other lingering issues from Covid, such as throat and sinus problems and ear pain. So it was good to see and ENT consultant, the same one who did two lots of FESS a few years back. Great consultant btw.

And what did they say about the tinnitus?

And what did they say about the tinnitus?

After having various tests, and a scan, not a great deal. Meaning that until the ETD* sort of clears up, or expected to, and the dual tone aspect of the tinnitus has now gone, then to see how this progresses. I can always go back and see the ENT......

....as needed.

*ETD - eustachian tube dysfunction. - hopefully will resolve over time.

Dymista spray being used.

In my case I absolutely have no doubt that that things were made much much worse due to Covid. I had never experienced ear pain before, that was bad.
I am seeing how this goes and where the tinnitus will balance out over time.

I've had tinnitus sporadically since a kid havn't had it in a while touch wood but its made me conscious of damage to the hearing and avoiding loud music, noise etc all my life

Good old nightclubs doing damage as always. I remember coming out of Amnesia in Ibiza and my ears were completely gone, it almost sounded like I was under water!

If I could just figure out what pitch my tinnitus was I could use it to fake absolute pitch by identifying the interval between it and whatever I'm listening to... Wait maybe I can do this in reverse.

Edit: pretty sure it's G#
