I thought any % tint applied to the front, would take it past the legal limit therefore making them illegal as they were already close the limit anyway. :)

Might be wrong though, I have it done on my car (35%) all round and never had any issues. :)

pics?

No, I had a tint from the factory on my windows and even with a film added to the front I only just came up to 35%. You can have different degree of films which add up to 35%, you can also have a 35% film. if that makes sense

its been on the radio recently that the police are cracking down on tinted windows, mainly because they have wiped all serious crime off the face fo the planet and are now dealing with only the minor issues :)

However, it was also mentioned that many cars already come with a slight tint already, so even though you ask for a 30% tint to a car it can still be illegal when added to the tint already on there.

Just make sure you go to a decent place to get them done.

The place near me that does tints gets the owner to sign a legal disclaimer saying you are fully aware that the tints could be illegal and that you wont sue the tiniting firm if caught.

I bought some side window sunblinds from my dealer - not much cheaper than tints, but still look good and are obviously removable. No insurance declarations either.

From that pic you cant tell they are blinds. Plus i forgot that insurance company would need to know.

Yeah, you can't really tell they're blinds unless you look really closely from the outside and see the tiny dots in the material. They are are a great fit and fit flush to the frame of the window.

Would quite like an electric rear blind too, but don't really want to dig my interior up again to fit the cabling!

Tints on a focus look silly, and on the BMWs they only look good if they are the the same tint on the front and back side windows.
