Linus? The Canadian? I quite like all the stuff him and his guys do. They churn out a lot....... Good washing up background stuff.

The youtube algorithm happened.

If you are a "content creator" and aren't putting out loads of different videos (for instance, because your sister has died unexpectedly) then you don't appear in suggested videos and your views dwindle.
 
I don’t mind Linus, he does grate a bit, especially with his high tone and constant LTT store plugs, but his content is good. I used to like Jay, but now find him quite boring and tbh, not that knowledgable at all.

Steve at GN does my head in with his fast paced drony voice and his videos can be very mundane.

my favourite is Paul. Good content, seems a nice guy and has a good presenting style.

there’s another much more unknown guy that I quite like too. He’s a British guy who doesn’t live far from me and he buys cheap tech off eBay and places like cex to see how it performs today. His channel is RandomGamingHD
 
I have unsubbed from many PC video creators on youtube... Linus, Paul, Steve from GN, Hardware Unboxed.... Now I am just subbed to Level1Techs.

Good lord, don't get me started on Jay's 2 cents... I unsubbed when all he did was complain... "I didn't get (x) review done because (x) didn't send me the hardware"... Always somebody else to blame.

But, yes, TTL has really had some bad luck. I think he got a divorce as well many years ago and that's why the studio changed... I used to like his long videos, but as I have got older and time has got more precious I find myself either reading articles or looking for shorter videos.

I even watch all Youtube videos on 1.25x speed now just to get through them. I also listen to my podcasts at 1.5x speed.
 
Linus made a video where he was literally crying about the toll that being a huge Youtube content creator had taken on his family life....and then carried on putting out videos exactly as before.
 
I saw a jay 2 cents live streaming thing and he was terrible and utterly patronising to anyone that would ask a question.
Very aggressive and arrogant.

Not the best.

I do that with most YouTube videos anyway. Guru Larry and Nostaga Nerd seem to talk in slow motion if I don't. I sometimes wonder if they talk slower in their videos down to reach the 10min minimum to monetize

You must have missed the debacle when he raged and attacked MSI after a BIOS update pretty much bricked his board, before someone pointed out that he had a preproduction board that was never released to the public. Much backtracking, humble pie eating and deleting of YouTube comments followed. Very funny.
 
I'm a fan of GN these days and tend to watch linus just for entertainment (I quite like that Riley dude,he's funny). Steve I think does the best job of actually reporting news and facts, although I can see how his style might grate with people
 
TTL is good if you building a computer, but if you want general entertainment then obviously Linus does it better.
TTL got swallowed by the youtube algo - he just doesn't upload enough for anything of his to be boosted.
 
I still like:

LTT,
TTL, not been keen on due to personal reasons but i feel for the guy with the past year
HW unboxed good for the most part
J2C, meh btu does the odd good video
HWC, like watching paint dry sometimes but can do the odd good video
GN (gamers nexus) my fav so far, the only thing I use pateron for support

I do also enjoy in the old games/tech category
8bit guy, Guru Larry, Nostaga Nerd, Civvie (this guy in particular), Metal Jesus rocks,, Phils computer lab, Retro man cave, Techmoan

and a few others
 
Used to watch TTL years ago, but his videos feel 10 years dated.

Watched Linus from the start but he’s starting to grate my gears recently. Probably just me but when he raises the pitch of his voice, the over the top enthusiasm and shouting everything it’s annoying me now. Should let the rest of the cast take over more as they are all great.

Gamers nexus is good but gets boring fast droning on and on about something mundane.
