Tiny upgrade, 6800nu to 6800gt - is it worth it?

Hi, I've just gone from a Leadtek 6800nu to a Leadtek 6800gt (agp) - I know its a tiny upgrade lol but the card was going for £125 and I couldnt resist - shouldnt be so bad if I get £90 for my 6800nu as it overclocks well.

Reason I bought this gfx card is that its peeing me off in games where the card can handle FPS fine but then suddenly goes to 0.1fps because of the lack of 256mb ram - hopefully the 6800gt should fix this.
What kind of fps increase am I likely to see if one at all? had my 6800nu running at 420/800 - I understand the core on my 6800nu overclocked further than a 6800GT but obviously the gt ram is far superior.

Needless to say I'm going to overclock the 6800gt but will the performance increase be noticeable apart from places where it goes to 0.1fps?
I run most games at 1680X1050 when they support it, games like BF2 and NFS:MW i run 1280X1024 - I could res hack them i know but res hacks give me artifiacts sometimes if the game doesnt natively support it.

well the GT should give you a nice boost, the 256 comes in real handy as do the extra pipe lines, but i cant help thinking you would have been better getting an X800GTO2 from MM, most of the original batch bench to near 7800GT speeds in 3d05,

Did you try unlocking all the pipes on your 6800nu? Mine fully unlocked to 16/6 no problems at all. Still not quite as good as a GT obviously, but much better than a stock 6800nu.

No no i'm happy with the way my 6800nu performs, it overclocks highly and unlocks 12/6, i can run 16/6 with artifacts.
But sometimes you just require 256mb ram - especcially at my res of 1680X1050 + you can use highest texture levels.

The GTs extra ram and bandwidth will help a lot with resolutions about 1280 with lots of AA. I think the GT also has 16 ROPS compared to the NUs 12, which will also help AA performance quite a bit.
