We all love the shiny bezel and stand that our nice Panasonic TV's come with and most of us want to keep it like that.

Unfortunately, the provided cloth does a great job scratching the bezel and stand and it is NOT recommended that people use this cloth.

Heres a TIP to keep it looking nice shiny and free from scratches. This also goes some way to hiding scratches:

- Dust down the surface with a Pledge Magic Duster (available at all leading supermarkets) and make sure surface is dry

- Apply wax

- Let it settle for a few minutes

- When the wax has hazed (looks a bit like powdery residue), Buff out using a micro-fibre cloth (make sure you take your time buffing out and buff in the direction of the bezel and not in a circular movements)

Now what you have done is give it a protective layer of wax which should be OK for 3-6 months. This will protect the bezel and stand from fine scratches which occur when cleaning with a cloth or even with a duster. In essence, the wax is what will be getting scratched and not the bezel/stand.

It also has the added benefit of leaving your bezel/stand looking nice and shiny and brilliantly black.

What i use:

Fantastic Fur Microfibre Buffing Cloth: http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Store/Product/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=741

'Concours Look' Carnauba Wax: http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Store/Product/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=444

These are products which i use to wax my car also and it works a treat on its panels.

You can also do this on other glossy surfaces or even wooden surfaces. I apply wax to the top of my wooden speakers, my glass coffee table, my logitech harmony 1000 remote etc.

Personally I just use a microfibre cloth dampened with warm water. Works a treat. I have never used any cleaner or polish on my plasmas.

Good tip. But by the time you add the postage that little pot of wax is going to cost about £30. That seems a lot to pay to me. Would any Carnauba Wax work the same ? As i have seen it cheaper in other places

:)

Ye it would. I use this also to wax my car so it does get used a bit so the expense is worth it for me.

Come on guys. We all know that if you buy the slave his freedom he will steal your wife and drive off in you're nicely polished car and you will never see him again

I might have to give this a try. My new 42" PZ80 hasn't been wiped yet and I've got a pot of Collinite 915 in the garage
