I went about a year a go and had lots off fun, I have booked 1hr 15mins off time there tomorrow! (best part off £50) Just wondering if anybody had any tips!!

thanks phil

Driving Smoothly try not to flick the cart about too much, smooth is the best way if your tires are scretching on every corner your not smooth enough and you'll loose speed. Work out the smoothest lines to each corner.

If your smooth and fast you'll p155 all over everyone else, unless you've got a massive weight dissadvantage.

Used to go all the time and i'd easy keep up and beat mates who where like <10 stone and i'm about 14ish. they'd be power sliding about and scretching all over the place and then wonder why i'd set the fastest lap every time.

Mmm I may have to organise a little event soon, It been a while.

Not sure if they were championship. They were 'racing' ones in ibiza. Yup, they needed a push to get going but once started they were pretty fast. I loved going flat out down the straight then doing a 360 and carry on going

IS that the cart track i've seen just outside San Antoni in Ibiza on google earth ? I'm off in 4 weeks and was wanting to know if its any good ?

Yep thatll be the one. Havent checked google earth but from the 'egg' roundabout you go up towards ibiza town and amnesia etc and its on the right.

4 weeks, jesus ure gonna need a lot of money! karts are quite cheap though from what i remember

edit - wow, google earth is great. yep thats it. We stayed at the hotel to the left on the map, near the first big roundabout, with the large orange roof and pool. great hotel 'es pla'

damn, me n my mate went on quite a big moped journey it would seem. from san an, to eivissa, past the airport, to san jose then to san agustin and back to san an from the bottom. didnt 'seem' to take too long

hehe i am company champion at go-karting. :D

only things i can suggest are keep your speed up and carry it through the corners and use all the track.

turning in on the brakes can help if its rear brakes only... ie keep throttle on and just touch the brakes with a little stab to help bring the rear around and it helps it turn a bit tighter.

They generally complain if you brake and accelerate at the same time, knackers the brakes :)

Brake into the corners, accelerate out: normal driving rules. I was going much quicker than people that were just going flat out and sliding round corners.

I'd of thought you'd not want to break at-all due to not having gears. - takes longer to pickup speed.

Try not to brake and turn at the same time. Messes up the balance of the kart and you'll be fighting for control a lot of the time.

just been with some work mates to a slightly larger one that we normally do, an outdoor track in lichfield. was very good, especially when the race before us manages to knock tha water out of the tire walls on a few corners, i was drifting all over the place.

we normally do a single 30 minute race, very tiring so makes it fun near the end of the race where mistakes start to happen.

ONE GREAT TIP. print all the attending drivers names off as large as possible, stick them to the back of the helmets. This means that when racing u know who your up against (ie if a known good driver over takes you u dont feel to bad) and afterwards in the pub u can talk to those who you bumped off ect. The first time we all had stories but didnt know who with.

PS we are now looking at the birmingham centre outdoor track as it is stupid large, has anyone gone on it?? thinking of the twin engined karts too.

Tips for go-karting?! :p

Look no further than this post! :D - I'm known as a bit of a go-karting god in social circles! ;)

1. Do not use the brake and accelerator at the same time. This damages the engine on the kart and can seriously degrade performance. The staff hate it when you do this!
2. Do not stamp on the brake as this while lock up the wheels and lose you momentum through the corners.
3. Make your presence felt if you are chasing someone down. Give them a few nudges to let them know you are there. Also watch which corners they are strong through and which corners they are weak through.
4. Don't be afraid to go fast.
5. Have fun!

Hope you have a good time!

Whappers.

I went a few weeks back and it was the best fun Ive had in ages. There was a special offer on at the one near me, 30 mins arrive and drive for £10 :) .

I'd never been before so when i first walked in and seen people sliding round corners i thought i was going to die. Then we had to sign a form (presumably for where to send your coffin :D ) and then had a few games of pool while we were waiting for the first lot to finish. The first few laps i got used to the cart then i was gradually getting better and better. Managed to overtake a few people and keep up with almost everyone.

Ive got to admit it was fun sliding round the hairpin but i started to follow the lines of the more experienced drivers so i could get a good best lap time.

Where was this Mark? I'm looking at going to the Daytona indoor track in Trafford but if I can go elsewhere for £10 for 30mins I'd rather do that :p. Unless of course you went to the same place.
