Best tip I can give is, in a situation where you come up against a hunter 1v1 say for example with something slow loading (I always use a shotgun) you can literally spam melee and it won't get near you. So reload/spam/spaz out with melee!

we need to get a few of us OCUKers together just to try some teamwork, sticking together and properly covering each other. Having plans for every part of the map.
It can work alright if your lucky just by following each other and going with the flow of your fellow survivors but on expert you really need to have a proper plan in place to survive.
Stick together.
View each situation and work out between you a good place to fall back to if you get rushed, like a corner of the map or a room with a big metal door.
Take it nice and slow and be ready to share your health and weapon drops.

And to be fair, you said "I must be mad"... So it's a reasonable comment when talking about not liking L4D

More tips:
The hunting rifle takes down the tank the quickest.
You can remove the smokers tongue by smacking the guy that is caught by it.

If you get swarmed back into a corner or some other tight space so your only fighting them from one side, fire off a clip and then melee for your life, works amazingly well, can go through a full swarm with little or no damage.
Back of the train is a good place but a corner will do.
Shut the doors! you will let a draft in or worse, it slows them down, gives you time to reload etc, just shoot a hole in it and start poping them off from the other side.

Not much of a tip, but the Z command rose will say the name of the person/item you are looking at if you select "look", he/she shouts the name if you are at shouting distance. I probably should have discovered this sooner, but it gave me about 20 mins of mindless pleasure just pointing at people and items

Another thing I find useful when a horde is coming is to back into a corner so they can't swarm you. Probably already mentioned somewhere, but I see a lot of people running into the open when a horde comes.

Just played my first game online. Good but got killed by the second witch. The number of times people ran in front off me when i'm firing gets on your nerves also everbody wants the shotgun, people need a good mix of weapons.
I tend to let everyone else pic the weapons then I'll balance it out...as the Uzi is awesome in it's respect if you can hit them in the head.
