Tired at work...

I'm on my feet for 12 hours most days. If I do feel slightly tired I drink something fizzy which perks me up. I have one meal a day and tend to just pick at stuff (odd chips etc) but that's not so much my energy levels just boredom.

I'm aware I have the worst diet ever but I'm a chef, I'm sick of food when I cook all day! I kinda think the less you eat, the less your energy will drop, I'm on an almost constant sugar low!

If you can, get out for a bit, even a little walk round the block helps massive amounts!

I suffered from this for a very long time and could not work out what it was, I like you would not eat until mid day but had been up from 6am. I found out that snacking smaller meals at regular intervals mixed with a much higher water (not tea/coffee/fizzy) intake balanced me out and I was able to go for longer without feeling exhausted. The addition of regular exercise has increased my energy levels to such an extent that find it hard to goto sleep most nights as my mind and body are to awake!

Make doctors appointment for 'under-active thyroid' they will take a blood test and get back to you.

I suffer from it and so does my dad, you feel extremely drained/tired, yawning often, lack of energy and difficult to 'get going'? Even when you had decent sleep and good diet. It's a lack of thyroxine hormone being produced from your thyroid gland in your neck but is also controlled by the brain.

My last job as a web designer was doing 12 hour days, getting up at 6am to commute and not home until gone 9pm sometimes. At the time my daughter had just been born so sleep was very little. Always nodding off and micro sleeping, sometimes standing up waiting for train.

I recently been diagnosed with this, apparently i could have been suffering for years with it and not really known because the symptoms are pretty much stuff you just shrug off and get on with.

A year ago i finally went to see my GP about always feeling tired/drained/sleepy for no reason because it was getting worse, and he sent me for a blood test and the results confirmed a "Underative Thyroid".

Luckily its super easy to treat, and if you do have it you will be taking pills for the rest of your life with annual blood tests.

Anyways just get tested to be sure, can get really bad if not dealt with.

Yeah it could end up being fatal if it goes untreated for a long time, so i recommend OP getting it checked out too. Its just a simple blood test.

Make sure you get 8-9 hours sleep at night and jeep a regular schedule, always to bed at same time, alarm same time.

Big meals will make you tired, split lunch i and breakfast each into 2 or 3 smaller meals. Snack regularly on thibgs like nuts that are high in fat and protein.
