Tired concrete path

Hi all, looking for ideas here,

I have a concrete path less than a metre wide around two sides of my house, it has some pitting in places but no deep holes and periodically cracks which go all the way across and don't appear to have moved for years. The concrete is extremely thick, about 4 inches so I don't want to rip it up. It may have been there for 40 years.

Does anyone have any experience of sprucing up old fairly flat and solid concrete?

patio slab on top?
`skimming over `is not a good idea by the way.If you are wanting a `good` concrete path only way would be to rip out and replace with 4" min imho unless you can add another 3 or 4" over the top without going above the DPC

Could use an outdoor epoxy coating on the concrete to spruce it up

My bungalow is early 70's and had concrete everywhere -In some places we could slab over it but most had to be ripped up - Like yours it was about 4" thick - I did most of the breaking up and take trailer loads to tip but had a skip in for drive - it was a back breaking job and I did buy a Titan breaker to get it up with.
Job well done in the end.

I also have concrete path around two sides of the house leading to concrete slab patio

Think I'll just paint it, or get a professional to coat it with something.

We've just had our patio removed and for some reason it was on top of a huge slab of flat concrete. The guys used a jack hammer to get through it (looked like what I would call an electric pneumatic drill and filled a skip with it). I don't think the path will be going anywhere. Someone did quote £2300 to put slabs on it. Seemed a lot to me.
