As the title suggests I have been through three acer predator xb271hu's all had terrible bleed and now two Asus Pb278qr both with dead pixels. All I want is a decently responsive 1440P ips or pls panel, doesnt have to be gsync can even be 60hz, just cant have terrible glow or dead pixels.Any ideas I'm pretty fed up, two months trying get a suitable panel here. Thanks guys

So just bought the Samsung S27H850 from OCUK, fingers crossed this is the last, never had a PLS panel before. I actually have a Dell U2414h here, zero bleed and zero yellow glow, really deep great blacks a perfect panel but sadly is only 1080P.

So got the monitor you really have to dial down the sharpness, why Samsung raised it so high is beyond me. Im pretty sure the panel in this is the same as the Dell UP2716D. With the response time turned to fastest there is a terrible amount of ghosting so faster seems to be the sweet spot, factory calibration is pretty good honestly. I doubt the accuracy of 4ms g2g due to ghosting tho. Still its a beautiful panel but my god the bleed in the bottom right side is irritating and my favourite genre is horror games https://imgur.com/b1Sl6uC

Looks like a typical ips panel to me. They really do suffer with glow and bleed :(

No not to the extent that its visible in bright light, I have had Dell Ultrasharps for years and they have had ips glow ( silver sheen) which go away if yoiu look left ot right of the glow, bleed doesn't change no matter the angle you look at it from, this was at less than half brightness too.

I have never had to return anything to OCUK before is it prepaid free shipping in the case of a fault like most other companies or do I have to foot the bill? As far as I am aware if the product is faulty the seller pays return right? cheers

Taking photos rarely give a true representation of how the problem appears in actual use. Also we all have our own ideas of what is acceptable.

If you can live with it do so, if not return it. Remember tho what has been posted in this thread regarding IPS and VA panels, and what your primary use would be.

Then again you must have done that already with the choice you already made.

Considering how many IPS type panels you have tried, and you like horror type games, maybe you need to think about something else.

It will always be a panel lottery as to what you end up with.

Good luck.

Its a beautiful panel once calibrated to be honest, I would allow some margin of glow/bleed but when its clearly intrusive as this one is its just not acceptable. I have used many Ultrasharp panels over the years and even with some glow they have never truly been intrusive, that said its far easier to run a lottery with dell directly. I have been through around 3 acer predators two Dell PB278qr's the first asus was perfect no backlight bleed but had several dead pixels, was such a shame the second one of those was a bananna, had a terrible yellow tint that w\s irremovable and a cluster of dead pixels in the centre of the screen. This Samsung would have been a keeper if the bottom right was just a bit less intrusive.

To be honest the only thing stopping me from going ultrawide is game support. Got in contact with OCUK looks like I have to foot the bill for returning the monitor, sadly because I'm in Ireland that wont be cheap and actuaqlly puts me off getting another with OCUK :/ Tried calling and staid on the line waiting for an age but eventually the phone was just hung up with no answer, calling UK from here is also costl, my luck is just not good at the moment it seems.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting it replaced. I have to say I'd pay the postage to send it back. The bleed and glow on that monitor is one of the worst I've seen :(

I have to say I haven't had too many issues with ultrawide support in games as yet. I think even the few that don't officially support it can be tweaked with various means.
Yea I have it booked for pickup €30, but Im pretty certain distance selling act states that seller is responsible for return shipping on faulty goods. This is first time I have ever had to RMA with ocuk anywhere else I have dealt with always sent me a prepaid label. I like OCUK's forum and have always heard how great the support is, Im just surprised they dont offer this. I will have it refunded and try my look with ultrawide you mentioned.

I also noted that one last week, take a look at this review that I watched, after noting the monitor....

best watched full screen in HD

Forget HDR and Local Dimming on that monitor.

If you note that you are very fussy about colour accuracy then should you be thinking about a VA panel, just a thought.?
Also if you are going to be charged £31, if you have another monitor which isn't a keeper, to return it then think about your supplier.
I wouldnt return a perfectly fine monitor but I refuse to pay a premium price and just settle for bleed thats madness. Im very fair and dont take advantageof RMA's Im just not that kind of person.
