Tiscali and our own router

My other half's house has tiscali broadband, which works 100% fine with the speedtouch 510v6 modem on a wired connection. For about three months I had a netgear wifi router working 100%, but the power supply blew and since replacing it, I have not been able to get the internet over the wifi connection since.
I have so far tried a Belkin wifi adsl modem, which will not sync, and now a Buffalo adsl wifi modem which also will not sync. I am at the end of my teather with this and I believe that it is all down to tiscali.

Has anybody else suffered similar problems?

Is VPI/VCI set to 0/38? I tend to use Netgear and found that some other makes didn't put those in for you automatically.

I'm using a Linksys with a Tiscali connection, but have used countless routers for other Tiscali connections.

yep, I've set these correctly. PPPoA is used and VCMux and CHAP enabled.
