I normally wouldn't entertain a conversation about Pelt / Tec Air cooling as in past years it never worked and just upped the temps of the case by 16 deg but i keep hearing that the Titan Amanda matches watercooling both for temps and noise when heavy overclocking the CPU is this true ?

I have a Titan Amanda on my C2D rig and personally think it's a very nice cooler to be honest. It get's knocked by a lot of people who don't realise it only switches the TEC on at above 25 degrees

Both my cores (e6600 @ 3.6 Ghz/1.5v) idle at 24-25 degrees, 38-40 degrees after constant load with Prime95 for a few hours...

I've had water in the past but just couldn't be bothered with it this build so went for something a little different.. I've not been disappointed, however you need to ensure your case has decent air flow, you'll get high temps dumped back into the case if there isn't a decent air flow through

I have two 80mm fans in the front of my ATCS201 case and an 80mm exhaust fan sitting right at the back of the Titan Amanda too...

Almost silent in my case, I've not noticed any increase in noise..

According to the specs, the fans rotate at 1500rpm and produce 20dBA of noise. The airflow created at this rather low rotation speed is strong thanks to the thickness of the fan (32 millimeters as opposed to the standard thickness of 25 millimeters).

I have the titan amanda and i got temps of:

40degrees - idle
55degrees - full load
@ 3.8ghz - 1.5v

^ lower temps than i got on water
(but i think i have a really hot chip :D)

Thanks indigo74

CarlD what watercooling was you running and what do you think about the noise level of the Amanda over your watercooling as you have also confirmed what i keep hearing that this TEC cooler works and is matching or in your case beating water cooling.

I like the thoughts of next to no maintenance apart from dusting the fans on
Amanda from time to time but i like to run a Quiet Computer and high pitched fans make drive me nuts.

was running a custom kit:

ThermoChill PA120.3
Laing D5-Vario (1/2")
Swiftech apogee cpu block
^ main bits anyway :P

Thermaltake armour. With the two blue led fans in the front of the case (intake) and a akasa amber outake. I might push the fans up to full speed but i will have all weekend to play with it. Also i will write a review how i get on with detailed pictures and how my overclocks improve.. well i will deifnaltley know if i will buy it tommrow... as i got £70 to spend and i will get it back selling my old X800GTO to a friend for his new pc :).

I'm going to order one, I want to see how good these really are hands on, I've got a Tuniq Tower sat here waiting as well so I will do a comparison once my IN9 32X-MAX & other stuff arrives - placing order now. :)

Excellent, looking forward to your results.

i might get one aswell ,since mine AC7 Pro is too noisy for me ,it is realy good Fan for cheep price ,but for Gods sake if i would know it is so noisy at max performance 2700rpm ,there is no way i would purshase one ! Dont get me wrong its good Fan runs my cpu at very low temps when overclocked @ 3.4ghz full load with Orthus stays @ 51-55!

p.s Do u think i could instal it in my TJ06 case?
