Titan cancelled

Make more money from free to play games like Hearthstone and spamming micro transactions in WoW.

Big budget games are dead.

Apart from all the big budget games! So Call of Duty probably won't bother releasing a game this Christmas? And next Christmas, and every Christmas forever...

When I play a quality big-budget game, like Deus Ex HR, for example, right now, it's hard to even think about playing a budget game seriously because DX is just so much better in so many different ways. Big budget games will often offer a far deeper experience (apart from COD :))

Bloody joke. I am actually pretty mad about this, been a Blizzard fan for 15+ years.

The only thing that will make me forgive them is if they announce a Warcraft 4.

Mad about what? you had no idea what it was. Sounds like they knew it was **** and binned it, pretty smart if you ask me. It's probably saved you money too.

The problem is you, not the games.

There's plenty of awesome games out there, more than one can play.

Yes, if you want a WoW clone/PvE centric carebear fest. Well MMORPGs anyway, I am done with MMORPGs. I don't understand why 99.99% of MMORPGers want a MMO Co-op RPG, but oh well we always have FPS games, it would just be nice to see a game with the freedom of EvE, but not MS Office online ontop of a space sim.

Sounds like you want Elite Dangerous! :P

Why? they got paid for 7 years.

Because, believe it or not, when people sink time and effort into something, they like to look at the outcome and think "Yeah, I helped achieve that". Some people essentially spent 7 years of their life on nothing, yeah they got paid, but it's never the same as being paid and having that sense of achievement you get when your work is appreciated by people.

From MMO

Kotaku has a nice article on what they know about Titan.

•MMO set in the future on Earth after an alien invasion with a very large world
•Three factions trying to control the planet.
•Do less interesting professions during the day while secretly fighting alongside your faction if you choose to do so.
•Team Fortress, Starcraft II, and The Incredibles all named in comparisons.
•Player run businesses and shops, families, relationships with NPCs, advanced AI that made it feel more like a living world.

Sounds amazing tbh. Makes the news more of a blow!

It's a shame they wont reveal the ideas or the concept behind titan as it was, since they dont want other companies to use the ideas. I was truly interested in what this was going to be..

I'd love them to do a Total War style game. With Blizzard's resources it would be amazing.

Holy crumbs, just did a quick google and Creative Assembly have done a deal with Games Workshop so a Warhammer equivalent should be being made! 2nd best thing to bliz doing a warcraft total war clone. Warhammer would have been first choice but Total War games have been so buggy recently on release I've been put off.

edit: just checked the dates, over a year and a half ago! Hmm, either keeping it close to their chests or not even begun...

The more I read about it the more I feel that Titan would have ended up as a Destiny clone several years down the line.

As Activision already have a new billion dollar franchise - why keep ploughing more money into a clone of it?

It really is, same about World of Darkness. I didn't really know what it was going to be, then heard about it on a podcast. It sounded awesome.
