Titan Fall VRam usage....

There was a discussion about this back when Titanfall released. The game uses flawed VRAM caching, which means it "looks" like it needs infinite amounts, but doesn't.

My GTX 670 2GB was always maxed out at 2GB, all details on full, full aliasing etc.. and constant 60fps. It's a ***ppy console port, that is why. Makes no difference.

Same happened with Sleeping Dogs. Maxed at 2GB all the time, but no stuttering. Of course, the FPS wasn't all perfect in that game anyway.

Console ports suck :P

***ppy console port? Oh do please tell us how one of the most modern source engine distributions seen in Titanfall is a console port...

Legit question, Almost 4GB Titanfall 1080p. Yet Just Cause 2 max 1080p is way more open and i almost thought osb was broken because i could not go over 500mb of ram.

Where does all the ram actually go?

I have always found the VRAM usage @1080p a bit odd as you often see a lot of usage whether it is needed or not. @4k this does not seem to happen so much but when you hit the max usage figure it is almost always slide show time.

Having said that there is nothing scientific about what I have said above as I have done very little testing, another person may get a different experience.

60FPS cap with last-gen Graphics and obviously flaw'd Vram usage. The game looks alright, but it's nothing groundbreaking by far.

And yes, I know you can bypass the cap by modding, but that isn't the point.

Is it restricted by the monitors refresh rate? I played it a little when it had the free time thing going on in origin and I wasn't locked to 60 FPS.

Because the console was the first platform the game would have been developed for. Consoles pay out over 70% more than the PC does, so the loyalty (for the payout) is always with the consoles. We get the second hand slop as a golden handshake for another payday, and usually far later than the console version.
