Titan Goliath

ah yes mate you are right it is the HT i get 10fps more in wow without ht on, however outperforms it maybe the wrong choice of words if the games were optimised for 4 core 8 threads it would be a white wash...but agree i5 would be his best choice

Very true here, but new I7 cpu's are been released next year for the 1156 socket so he would be saving money aswell as been able to upgrade to the faster cpu's next year ^^

( by the way that quote is legendary :) )

I find it very confusing myself.

Some reviews place the i7 miles ahead while some place the i5 in the same area.

Funnily enough its for the same games etc. So which ones would you believe?

In my very humble experince it would be unwise to use games benches of like 4-5 FPS to make your choice of i7 vs i5. The i7 was not made for gaming and mutli tasks like a good un i would ask yourself can i afford it and what do i use it for

go with the i5 , the gain in performance doesnt warrant the extra price for the i7 imo , unless ofc u need it for some serious non-gaming tasks and have the money to spend but then i'd argue you could spend it elsewhere on the system.
