Titan Quest - Stuck

It was all going so well :rolleyes:

I'm in Sparta, I've completed every side mission and killed every enemy on the whole map as it is, I'm a level 6, I'm supposed to be killing a giant centaur and his irritating pals before I can continue... this is proving impossible, you just can't kill the guy. I take a tiny niblet off his health then get killed.

I've bought weapon after weapon thinking it'd make a difference... one weapon was like 5k and was worse than my cheapo one! So now I'm left with no gold and no way to defeat this guy, which means I'm gonna have to stop playing (there's no way I'm starting from scratch)

Shame really because the game's awesome, it's not something I'd ever usually consider playing but I really got into it, without the point spending and upgrading stuff getting on my **** like it does with most other RPGs.

So yeah, just out of interest, how exactly are you supposed to kill the centaur?

he is quite easy - what class are u.

If ur ranged kite him. Fire a shot run fire etc etc.

If ur mellee its pretty much the same run in hit. As he knocks ur health down run out of his range take a potion wait till ur health is back and go in again. Stack up on loads of pots the recharge is pretty quick.

If u run to far from him u see him run to his starting spot, when u run twds him he will come at u again. Also when u first engage him pull him right into the main map away from his two adds, they wont follow.

Finally if you die don't worry just go back as he doesn't recharge his health.

That first one lol. The one after you come on a boat and go through that town and farm and you get this boss like creature.

Really!?

What class are you?

Buy a shed load of pots.

Make sure you get rid of his sidekicks before you deal with him.

He's definitely recharging his health in my case. Every time I go back there it's full again. I'll give the running away thing a go, but there's no gold left on the whole map to even buy potions... I think I borked it.

I also don't ever remember choosing a class... was it the bit where you spend your points the first time? I assumed I'd be able to get points for all the things on that screen, then wondered why I couldn't get back to it.

Kinda peeved it's gone **** up tbh, what a waste. I might just start on the expansion.

I died quite a few times trying to kill him but it didn't matter because his health wasn't recharging and I had nothing to lose really. Just keep respawning and running over there.

If you die then yeah he is going to heal.
Starting the expansion will do you no good, you need to finish the original game content before playing it.
Its an extra chapter, not a new campaign.
Either way you have to kill the first boss.

Try restarting the game. You might find the boss spawned with a regen item.

at level 2 u get to pick ur class and unlock skills - Are you a warrior by any chance ?

you should really start the game via the expansion, you don't miss any of the content from the original. It does however have all the updates from the expansion added in.

The main problem will be a spell he casts, it should sound like a horn and make a flag appear, this makes all his buddies do much more damage.

Try and take or at least lure out his mates first and dispatch them. After that try goin one on one with him, just keep taking potions and running away if need be.

Titan Quest is great, but it really should be renamed to "Potion Quest". You need so bloody many of them.

Best advice is to hit and run - I tend to kill off his army first and then you can concentrate on the boss himself!
Dont worry about having stripped the level bare of gold - just exist the game and re-start and it will all be re-set so you can build up some more cash for lots of potions!

Early doors maybe but if you get the right build, by the mid to end of the first difficulty, you dont need them at all!

best advice is do some reading on the Titan Quest forums for advice on builds - but beware, DO NOT download and abuse the Titan Quest Vault - it will completely wreck the game imo!
