Titan Quest - Stuck

I'll get to adding you on Steam and whatnot tomorrow when I'm not inebriated, but I just wanna say, I can't understand why I'd never heard of this game before when it seems so awesome, like a PC gamer's wet dream?

When was this released exactly?

I cant remember what class it was, been a while since I played it, but I just summoned 2 wolves and kept healing them. They killed him for me and I just watched lol. I started to play this with a mate, but he doesnt like point and click adventures so he quit pretty early on. :(

i would consider myself a titan quest master, the easy way to kill him is to kite him with a bow from your left side of the screen, when you fire at him from a certain spot, he ll use his war horn skill then chase you a little.

Now he out of range of his war horn and its just you and him, you ll need about 15 potions at lvl 6 to take him down, dont just keep spamming potions tho, wait till you health is about 1/2 way then pot.

Remeber that when you hit him with the arrow, press W to change to your normal weapon and run away just far enough that he chases you and stops but not too far that he returns to his normal spawn area.

If you think he s hard wait till you get to the Cyclops........

In order of difficulty the game go s - Legendary, then normal , then epic.

You just need to get past normal act 1 then your character will start to come alive.

As also previously mentioned, you NEED to start with the expansion, if you dont and complete the game, when you fire up the expansion you ll need to take your char all the way through the original 3 acts to get to the expansions act 4.

Have a look on TitanQuest.net for some good advice on your char build.

Theres a Titan Quest community patch also that fixes many outstanding issues found after the final developer patch. I'd highly recommend installing that also :)

You mightn't have noticed that you also have points that you can use to increase your intelligence, strength and dexterity each time you level up, allowing you to use better equipment.

Then there's the points that go into your class abilities of course, pay attention to what these actually do when choosing them.

You should be level 6 by the time you fight him, there's a few side areas and the like that you should explore before rushing straight in. If you've levelled up your stats and abilities, drawn his mates out first and killed them, you should be able to take him down while spamming health potions.

You'll probably have picked up a few items you can add to your weapons too. I found a bat fang that does a handy poison damage over time effect every time it hits, helped a lot.

Never got into the game originally, but really enjoying it this time around. Beat him as a hunter this time around, and didn't have much trouble with him.

Played this game quite a bit, its awesome :D

Dont think I used many potions if any to kill him, he is pretty easy once you know how he reacts. Easiest method I think is to just agro him and run away, once you get to a certain distance he will give up and start returning to original spawn point. As he is moving away you can run back in a bit and start shooting at him, and he then will re-agro and come after you again, then you run away a bit and he will stop again at the same point and start to return again. Repeat till he dies ;)

if you need to do this to kill him, melee classes arent for you ;)
once you do finally kill him, loot the chests then reload you game and repeat 20x or so, you ll get to lvl 7 or 8 and have a couple of blue items.

Just killed that boss at level 5, found him really easy tbh, i just killed the people with him, then hit him a few times, run away and took a potion and repeated. He eventually died :P need a lot of potions for this game but it is fun :)

Level 11 now and starting to get a bit bored. It just seems to be repeating the same green fields / beaches / ruins and caves the whole time, and the same enemies too. I'll give it a while longer, see if it improves at all.

sounds like this game isnt for you,

all hack n slash rpgs are "samey"

what you have to remember is the game is massive, your looking at 24hrs per runthrough at least, so on each act your gona be 6 hours roughly.

You have Greece, the centuars maze, Egypt, China and hades still to get through.

What class and skills are you playing/using?

I've played my share of diablo-a-likes, thanks :p

I just find the progression in this a bit dragged out for the sake of it - the pacing's just a bit on the slow side, and the re-use of assets just a bit lazy.

The dual class system is pretty cool, but there's no need for 12 upgrades to any single skill, again it just seems to be drawing things out for the sake of it.

again what you have to remeber is that by legendary you can have as much as +4 ( iirc ) to all skills so you dont need every skill, and you certainly dont want every skill maxed.

If its your first play through of the game you will find it slow, but when you know what your doing you can rush most of it and just do the quests en route and then farm the bosses to catch up/progress through the levels.

Another tip for you is to farm the arachnid queen spider for formula scrolls as her chest is one of the best for them.

it changes per act, so Act 1 is fields and stuff, Act 2 desert and tombs, 3 mountains and snow, 4 is in hell. i wouldn't bother farming in normal, all the decent stuff drops into epic and legendary.

there are a fair few mods that make the game more manageable, TQDefiler lets you edit various game settings and makes it easier to enable mods, however you can also "cheat" pretty heavily so make sure you realise that before using. TQVault is also mega useful, basically allows you to store all the great stuff you find and can't use with that char, particularly relics and formula.

i think i bought it for a few quid in one of the past steam sales, it's one of my most played games.

Ah well that sounds good :P I got to around 7 last night so I'm going to play it more later :D looks good but need a ton of potions.

Just beware - you can use the TQ Vault to download pretty much anything that is available in-game - and it completely ruins the game imo!

One of the best things about this little gem is the loot collecting - bypass that and it becomes very meh!

Can you use TQ Vault and Defiler with the Steam version ?

me and a buddy played immortal throne through in co-op! A great game... cant help with you being stuck as it was ages ago we played. Only thing I found dissapointing was the lack of decent items you find on the first run through. When I finished I still had the same staff I started with :S
